A Career in Real Estate
Carly began her career as a REALTOR® through her family’s shared interest in real estate. She explains, “I became a REALTOR® upon my husband’s suggestion. I was at a crossroads in my career and personal life. Our children were getting older; I had more time and wanted to contribute to our family business in a meaningful way.” Carly and her husband own Real Estate Webmasters (REW), the largest custom technology and marketing company that does lead generation for listings. She describes her work with REW and the people she met along the way: “I was so fortunate to be able to spend 4 years working with REW’s clients attending events and conferences worldwide. Real estate agents are among the most dynamic, interesting, and fun group of people I have ever met. It was a natural progression for me and I am so glad I made the leap to become an agent.” Through her work at REW and her own professional development as a REALTOR®, Carly has acquired knowledge, international connections, and brand power, enabling her to deliver high-calibre experiences to clients.

As Carly ventured deeper into real estate and what a career in the industry meant for her, she began to identify what inspired her most, and carved out a path based on personal drive and passion. She conveys, “What really sparked my enthusiasm for my career was when I sat down with my business coach and started to look at what I wanted out of my career beyond the obvious (helping people and contributing to my family). I realized how much I love the island and specifically waterfront and luxury properties. So I took the money I earned (minus expenses) and invested that money to revamp my whole website in order to target my ideal customer. Understanding who I wanted to work for really inspired me to work hard even on days I didn’t feel like working.”

Along with finding her own niche as an agent, Carly has also found success. But success always looks different to her. “Success can mean different things to me on different days. If I’m learning and growing, that’s a success. In my first year I made the Executive Club, and in my second year I hit the 100% club in the first four months of the year. Success in my opinion is simply not staying stagnant.

In an industry that is ever-changing, Carly looks for ways to achieve success through education and expertise. Personal Time
When Carly is not working or chatting about real estate, she loves to exercise, travel, be outdoors, visit her cabin on Lake Cowichan, enjoy girl’s nights, and drink great wine.
